1. Irvin Azoff is the CEO of Ticketmaster Entertainment. He wants to save the music business, because it had taken a huge downfall in the past couple of years, even in the past couple of months. He needs to earn money for his company, in order to keep new music a reality.
2. Because of the internet and easy access to artist's work, the concert economics has gone up substantially. But on the other hand, downloads from the internet have taken a huge profit away from c.d. sales, so artists and venues aren't really seeing any additional revenue.
3. Ticketmaster sells tickets to events based on what the artist and venues have decided, along with a 15-20% tack on fee for company profit. Now new sites are selling tickets at much higher prices then ticketmaster (such as Stubhub), but in order to compete with them, ticketmaster created ticketsnow.
4. Through Wal-Mart, the Eagles were able to make dollars per c.d. rather then pennies through a label company.
